La Cerdanya
La Cerdanya valley, divided between the states of Spain and France, is the unique plain in the Pyrenees since there is no other with comparable magnitude. Surrounded by the ranges of Cadí and Moixeró at the southern side and Pyrenees at the north, this valley offers a great diversity and landscape beauty typical of the alpine areas but with mediterranean features.
Hotel Martinez is located at the outskirts of Puigcerdà, the main urban and comercial town of La Cerdanya valley. Founded on 1178 by Alfons II of Aragón, Puigcerdà is the historic capital of La Cerdanya and nowadays it has around 9000 inhabitants. At the town there's places of special interest worth to visit like Puigcerdà's Lake, the 12th century clock tower, Sant Tomàs of Ventajola Church and the Cerdà Museum.
